Chetan Rama Rao started ‘Kala Vilasi Sangha’ when he was 19 years of age. He came to Kannada cinema industry from Abhshapa in 1964. Post master, Nanu Neenu Jodi, Anuradha, Kallu Sakkare, Bedi Bandhavalu, Margadarshi, Olavu Gelavu, Swapna are some of his films. He has acted in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu films.

Nataka Chathura, Kaladrona, Natarathna are the crowns he earned. He lives in Kuvempu Nagar Mysore.
